By Ronald Martin

Track racing, kind of an auto racing which is performed on oval tracks in which the surface is made from clay or dirt. Open wheel racers and stock cars are the two most common types of vehicles that are used. The open wheels are built particularly for racing purpose while the stock cars can either be switched for racing or for a street vehicle, depending in the degree of usage.

The sponsoring organizations and the race tracks have provided their own regulations and rules in their rule books that are outlining the varieties of race cars. Equipment requirements, dimensions, prohibitions, and engine size are the common rules. Requirements are often in coordination with multiple tracks to allow each car on having a wide venue for dirt track racing Arkansas. Through coordination, drivers will have the chance on competing to different racetracks, associations can be able to promote the fan interests through events, and competitors have great chances for winning.

These 2 types of vehicles will range from having small engines to large engines. Wings are placed to some other vehicle types for aiding the handling in higher speeds. Open wheels are generally manufactured with specific purchased bodies and specific tubular frames. These have open wheels, meaning, not protected by a fender.

A hybrid type of open wheel is called the modified car. Its characteristics are most likely the same as the stock car. Rear wheels have covering while the front wheels do not have. This is being controlled with specific rules by sanctioning bodies in most of the tracks. Each body provides their own set of regulations and rules and also registration fees.

Another term for a stock car is full bodied car where in the wheels have a covering and protected by fenders. One general type of this are non production cars. The non production kinds have welded tubular frames and bodies are purchased or customized. One subtype are late models and are classified into tracks and series of run.

A late model is currently the dirt super feature made from tube frames chassis of steel and aluminum bodies. These features give it a more similar appearance to stock cars. These are considered as very sophisticated when it comes to dirt racing. These are raced in different tracks having one fourth up to one mile.

The limited late model has the same rules compared to the first one. They only differ when it comes to the motor rules. Typically, the limitations of engine would include the cylinder head angle, carburetor size, displacement size of engine, and compression ratios. The rules of suspension forbid on using expensive canister shocks. The choice of tire is also limited.

Late model stock is similar to limited late models and super late models in the rules for the body. But rules for the engine are limited. Crate late models make use of special tagged engines. Parts which are sealed with these tags are the front cover, intake manifold, oil pan, and cylinder head. Engine specifications must no be altered and be modified.

Other car types are modified manufactured. Productions for modified cars with highest division contain only few of the original parts. Usually, glass windshields will be removed and interiors are being stripped out.
