An Insight Into Car Detailing Lexington KY

By Joyce Sanders

The car detailing of any vehicle begins with washing and drying the car. That is the most important step yet most people overlook it because most of the car imperfections are introduced during the regular washing of the car. The car gets the water spots and swirls if it is not done correctly. The cleaning of the vehicle should be done twice a week thus car detailing Lexington KY.

Before the cleaning, a pre-wash is done. The water is decalcified and all the other water impurities removed as they cause the water spots to form on the surface. A tube of shampoo is then applied with a light scrub on the surface. It is necessary to remove any grease on its surface. The vehicle is then dried by blowing air till dry. A dry towel is then used.

Some of these imperfections that remain after the washing are removed using the clay bar. Application of the clay bar leaves the surface very smooth and glassy. It is worth noting, some of these imperfections removed are invisible to the bare eye. This process must be repeated either once or twice a year.

The clay usually comes in two forms a quick detailer and a clay lube. The bar lubricant is applied first to smoothen the surface. Enabling easy application of the clay bar without marring is essential. As a result, the clay will be used efficiently. A mixture of optimum rinse off and water is then used to finish it off.

Once the clay surface treatment is done, it is then polished. It is argued that this step has the greatest impact on this vehicle. Essentially it is used to remove the dull spots on the face of this car due to weathering action and industrial fallout. It can be done twice or thrice in a year to keep it in a perfect state throughout the year.

In the recent times, the buffer is being utilized to substitute the use of that hand. This is because the hand often results in uneven surface polish. In addition to that, a lot of pressure is needed for good polishing which makes the work tiring and unproductive.

Glazing is the final significant step in the detailing process. It functions to add a layer of gloss to the surface. The layer of the paint also increases. It is done to fill in the minor details though it only does that for a period and so has to be done regularly. Care should be taken to ensure that the waxes and sealants are removed in the process.

The glaze should be done only on a vehicle that has gone through the above process and it has been done properly. For the glaze to be uniform, the black finishing pad is best for use. Since glazing is done once and more than one layer cannot be used, for maximum performance a single coat is enough.

Those are the key steps in detailing. There are other procedures done such as coating, layering, waxing, microfiber care, wheel and tire care and the glass care.
